clustalw software package provides global multiple nucleotide or peptide sequence alignment, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install clustalw
clustalw is installed in your system.
Make ensure the clustalw package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep clustalw *
You will get with clustalw package name, version, architecture and description in a table
